Apprenticeships are available to anyone aged 16 or over by the end of the summer holidays. As an apprentice you will:
- Work alongside experienced staff
- gain job-specific skills
- earn a wage and get holiday pay
- get time for study related to your role (usually one day a week).
Apprenticeships take 1-5 years to complete depending on their level. There are different entry requirements depending on the sector and job.

A traineeship is a skills development programme that includes a work placement. It can last from 6 weeks up to 1 year, though most traineeships last for less than 6 months.
