Students are taught how apply, compose, and analyse music through a wide range of different genres. They develop confidence, creativity, individualised learning, and team work skills and explore different styles and how they relate to real life situations, applying them to projects, such as advertising for a music festival. This enables them to develop a variety of different skills through the medium of creativity and shows students how to transfer skills into different subjects, which is vital at KS4.
Currently, music is taught to all students through creativity up until the end of Year 9.
We also have peripatetic teachers who work with students across the Academy with specific instruments.
